Close To My Heart-Scrapbook Challenge #88-Wings Layout

I know I'm a bit behind on this weekly challenge layout as this was from several weeks ago but I am glad I waited to do this one. I was able to work with a new paper pack called 'Wings'. Admit it! It WAS worth the wait, right?

The three pretty ladies in this layout are my daughter-in-law, her daughter, Samantha, from a previous marriage and my newest granddaughter, Scarlet, whom you have already met in many of my previous layouts. This paper was perfect for these photos, don't you agree? I still have some journaling to do and still not quite sure what to do with the empty space on the left page yet...maybe stamp their names? What do you think?

Supplies used are all Close To My Heart:
  1. 9034-Magic-Mesmerize
  2. G1016 Wings Workshop Kit
  3. D1452-Find Your Style-January SOTM
  4. D1359-Comments
  5. C1440-Take a Picture
  6. Z2105-Black ink
  7. Z2157-Vineyard Berry ink
  8. Z1248-Juniper Waxy Flax
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a good one!

The Best Christmas

This Christmas was one of the best I've had in a long, long time! Thanks to my son, his wife and daughter! And, of course, my hubby and daughter. They made this one of the most memorable Christmases ever! I don't think I've laughed so much or as hard as I did the past few days. Thank you for that!

And this little girlie is just the cutest there ever was! She was more interested in the tinsel on the tree than any of the gifts. Next year, she will enjoy the gifts more, I'm sure! She'll have a little sister to share the fun with, too!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! I hope the New Year is a happy, healthy one for you and yours!

Close To My Heart Scrapbook Challenge #85~Meet Myrtle

Wow! It's been awhile since I've posted here on my blog. I apologize for being so stinkin' busy lately that I've neglected to post anything new. Time just seems to get away from me and most times I really don't feel that I've even accomplished anything. Do you ever feel that way? Or is it just me?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my latest layout for the Weekly Scrapbook Challenge. It features photos of our little Crape Myrtle bush we bought a couple years ago. We really were surprised that for being such a small bush, the blossoms on it were so huge and vibrant! Keeping our fingers crossed that it continues to bloom for years to come! (That's pretty much what the journaling will say when I get that done.)

Close To My Heart Scrapbook Challenge #83~November

As I was walking up and down my driveway the other day-I do that for exercise as it's on an incline and it's a very good workout-every time I passed the leaves lying on the ground under the maple tree, I kept remembering all the fun my kids used to have playing in the leaves back at our old house many years ago. What wonderful memories they were! I was missing that very much and wanted to re-experience that feeling again so I asked my hubby to take some photos of me acting silly while playing in the leaves. Well, it wasn't totally the same since the kids weren't here but for a brief moment, I felt like a kid again. That's pretty much what I wrote on the journaling tag after I took the photo of the layout.

Supplies used are all Close To My Heart:
  • 9031~Reflections-Quartet-Border Cut Out & Bottom Border-Overlap designs
  • X7110B~Back Country paper pack
  • C1372~Grateful Hearts stamp set
  • C1269~Fabric Finishes stamp set

  • Z2135~New England Ivy ink
  • Z2137~Olive ink
  • Z2104~Barn Red ink
  • Z1305~Holiday ribbon collection
  • Z1218~Colonial White brads
Hope you enjoy my latest layout for the Weekly Scrapbook Challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

CTMH Scrapbook Challenge #82 & Heart2Heart Challenge

Here's my layout for the latest Weekly Scrapbook Challenge plus since the Heart 2 Heart challenge this past week was to create a project featuring pumpkins, I am also entering this in that challenge as well.

I used an old favorite paper pack of mine, unfortunately one that is no longer available, called Abundance. I hadn't realized I still had a full pack of this paper until I accidentally found it in my stash while searching for another paper pack, Twitterpated, to use for these Fall photos. You think I need to be more organized so that I know what the heck paper packs I have? Ah, it would be wonderful to be that organized!

Supplies used are all Close To My Heart:
  • 9031~Reflections how-to design book
  • X7073B~Abundance paper pack (n/a)
  • X7073C~Abundance MyStickease (n/a)
  • D1371~Many Thanks stamp set
  • B1269~Journaling Jots stamp set
  • Z2114~Cocoa ink
  • Z2123~Goldrush ink
  • Z2101~Autumn Terracotta ink
  • Z2137~Olive ink
  • Z280~Natural Hemp
  • Z1099~Twill ribbon
  • Z1215~Autumn Harvest brads
Hope you enjoy my layout even though the journaling hasn't been completed yet. (I plan to do that today!) Okay, now it's your turn to start creating for either one of these challenges. Post it to your website or blog, then head on over to the websites to post a link to your creation. I look forward to seeing what you create!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a Happy Halloween!

Close To My Heart Studio J Layout

I just had to share this Studio J layout with you! I have only just started to really play with this program and it is awesome! If you have tons of photos on your computer and don't know what to do with them all or don't want to have them all printed out, you MUST give this program a try! It is FREE to try and you can play to your heart's content without having to purchase a thing. There is no software to purchase or install-it is all done online! How cool is that? If you wish to have your scrapbook pages printed, Close To My Heart will print them out for you and ship them straight to your door. Contact me for more details about Studio J memberships!

I created this beautiful layout with the Magnifique paper pack in the Studio J program. That's right! Magnifique is also available in Studio J as well as in paper form! Close To My Heart Scrapbook Challenge #79~It's a Wonderful Life

Here's my latest layout for the weekly scrapbook challenge. I know it's not Christmas yet but it sure will be here before we know it so I'm getting ready! This particular layout design is actually only available if you are a *Studio J member but I created it using the Mistletoe paper pack and the Mistletoe My Stickease. Now I am not a huge fan of stickers but I love these and since I accidentally bought 2 packs of them--did I say I love these?--I wanted to use them. How quickly this layout came together! I did do a little bit of stamping on the bottom using an image from the 'A1110~A Timber' stamp set that I am also loving. Speaking of 'A Timber'--join me next month for my A(wesome)-size Stamp of the Month club as we create at least 2 cards/projects with this little stamp set. It's not too late to join in. Just RSVP along with your payment of $10 by November 5th. No monthly commitment required!

*Ask me for more information about Studio J--the fabulously easy online scrapbooking program that I know you'll love!

Hope you enjoy the layout and thanks for stopping by!

Close To My Heart Scrapbook Challenge #78~So Beary Cute

Sharing my layout for the weekly scrapbook challenge. Gee, there's that cute little girlie again. Surprised? I'm not! She is just too 'beary' cute and I had to scrapbook these photos. I have no clue whether that bear suit is pajamas, a bath towel, a cold weather suit or a possible Halloween costume so the journaling will be done by my son or daughter-in-law.

Not in the mood to type out all the details on this layout right now so if you have any questions at all about it, leave me a message and I'll get back to you! Sounds like an answering machine, doesn't it? LOL I did use the new Magic how-to book, 'Love Potion' design, along with the Olivia paper pack on this layout. I am totally loving both! Hope you enjoy the layout!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a good one!

Rescued A Hummingbird Recently

Well, I guess I can put Hummingbird Rescuer on my resume' now. This poor little bird got stuck up in the skylight of my deck a couple weeks ago and I couldn't stand watching him try to get through the glass. He was getting so frustrated and worn out. After snapping a few pictures (did you think I'd miss out on THAT photo op?), I grabbed a broom and offered it to the bird to see if he'd grab onto it so I could bring him down. He briefly held on for the first try but it only took one more try for him to grab it and let me lower him down so he could fly away. He rested on the broom for about 30 seconds and of course, at that time I did NOT have my camera in hand, then he flew away.

The photos are pretty crappy thanks to the smooshed bugs all around the woodwork of the skylight plus he was moving pretty fast in a couple of the photos but you get the idea. I'll probably never get this close to a hummingbird again so I consider myself lucky to have encountered this one. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers!

Well, maybe Peter Piper didn't pick them but will you just LOOK at all these peppers I am still getting from my garden? Amazing! It has been one crazy year for peppers, lousy for green beans but crazy for peppers. Thank goodness the last spring frost we had killed 2 of the plants otherwise we would be swamped by many more of these luscious peppers. I'm running out of ideas to fix them fresh so I have frozen a lot of them, whole and chopped, to use throughout the winter. Anyone have any suggestions (be nice) of any unusual ways to fix peppers? I'm open for suggestions because I still have plenty more to be picked yet. I am giving these particular peppers to my peeps when they come for my classes tonight and tomorrow night. No excuses! I am forcing them to take these buggars home. I have 10 bags each with 3 green peppers, 4 banana peppers and a sprig of fresh parsley all ready to go. Now don't you wish you were coming to my class tonight or tomorrow night?

Thanks for stopping by today! Make it a good one! Want some peppers?

Heart2Heart Challenge~H2H25~Sketch

Holy cow!! It has been so long since I joined in on the Heart2Heart challenges. The last one I did was way back in July when I was on the first design team! I am so sorry that I haven't kept up with these challenges and will do my best to participate again.
Anyway this week's challenge is a sketch. I love sketches so I had to do this one. I made a 4 x 4 card with Sunset cardstock then added some Pacifica cardstock for contrast. I love those 2 new colors from Close To My Heart. Ink colors used are Chocolate, Pacifica and Sunset. The leaf and acorn images come from the special little stamp set that you can earn FREE if you attend one of my classes or workshops. Ask me about it! Another stamp set used is D1412 Noted Backgrounds and the 'Thank You' comes from B1362 Tag the Occasion. I dry embossed the edges of the cardstock for a special touch then added a bit of hemp and a couple Colonial White brads to finish it off!

I hope you have enjoyed my little card today. Now back to my scraproom to work on the next Weekly Scrapbook Challenge. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoy the layout! Happy Scrappin'!

Yummies to Share

Although my birthday was a few days ago, I just now received one of the most unusual birthday gifts I've ever gotten and wanted to share it with you. My daughter sent me some organic cookies from an online store called Cookie Rush. And although they aren't awfully sweet like I prefer my cookies, they are very tasty little buggers. You must try them! Go to cookierush.etsy.com and find them for yourself. Gosh, I hope they don't mind me sharing this with you. :-)

Thanks for stopping by! Now go order your own organic cookies and enjoy!

Awesome Summer Sunset 2010

Did anyone get to enjoy this awesome summer sunset last evening? It was so amazing that I had to take photos of it to share with those of you who may have missed it. The photos don't give you the full effect of how gorgeous the sky really was as the colors changed while the sun was going down. The colors were so vivid, it was amazing! Hope you enjoy the show!

Close To My Heart Magnifique Projects

Sharing some new artwork with you using the new Magnifique paper pack from Close To My Heart that will be available for you to purchase on September 1st. Be sure to contact me to get your own paper pack to create these fabulous projects! This card is one that we will make in an upcoming card workshop so if you really like it, be watching for more details about the workshop.
This beautiful work of art is actually a box. It is the My Creations Memory Keeper Box by Close To My Heart and makes a great gift for a loved one. I had fun decorating this box using the newest papers, stamp sets and embellishments that will be available to you on September 1st.
Here's a layout that I created also using the new Magnifique paper pack. I LOVE this layout! I got the idea for this layout from a CTMH publication only available to consultants and had to make one for myself. I didn't copy it exactly but used the same basic design.
Here's a layout I totally LOVE! The reason could be because of the photos of my beautiful daughter. Ya think? Anyway, this layout was created with the Magnifique (getting tired of this paper yet?) paper pack and the stickers that match. Now, I am NOT a huge fan of stickers (as most of you know) but....I really LOVE these as they were so perfect for the photos and really made the layout work! The design for this layout is one that's on the back of the sticker sheet.

I hope you have enjoyed all my Magnifique creations. Isn't it amazing what you can create with the beautiful papers from Close To My Heart? Contact me to purchase some for yourself!

Thanks for stopping in! Have an awesome day!

This layout is actually last week's scrapbook challenge but I'm a bit late posting it. Sorry! : ( I have been creating a lot lately and doing business-related stuff for my scrapbooking/cardmaking business and haven't taken the time to share much with you. Again, I apologize as I know so many of you look forward to my artwork. Huh, am I right or what? Haha!

Anyway, I used the Splendor paper pack from Close To My Heart, of course, for this layout. The layout design comes from Jeannette Lynton's newest design book called 'Magic' and is the Ta Da! design. ('Magic' will be available starting September 1st and it is a MUST-HAVE book for any 'real' scrapbooker like myself and you, too!) Isn't this an awesome layout with those happy, giggly girls? Some New Artwork to Share

Well, I guess it's about time I shared some new artwork with you! I have been holed up in my scraproom recently as the creative juices have been flowing freely and I like to take advantage of that!

I have been playing with some new paper packs from Close To My Heart that will be available soon for EVERYONE to play with. Mark your calendars for September 1st and give me a shout to reserve your copy of the Autumn/Winter 2010 Idea Book.

The first project above is a corner bookmark. These are so much fun to make and work up so quickly. They make great little gifts so don't be surprised if one day I give you one! This one was made with the Magnifique paper pack coming soon to an Idea Book near you.

The next card is also made with the Magnifique paper pack and a new stamp set called, 'A Sip'. It is a 3x3 card and if I happen to run into you somewhere, I just may hand you one of these. I am passing them out to just about everyone I interact with as I run my errands each day so you never know if you might be one of the lucky recipients of one of my handmade cards.

The next 2 cards are also 3x3's that may find themselves in your hot little hands as well. They are made with the new Olivia paper pack from Close To My Heart. I just absolutely LOVE the new Olivia paper pack. The colors are definitely perfect for the Fall season that is fast-approaching...sigh...as much as I love the Fall, I hate to see Summer leave us! I have totally enjoyed this Summer! It's been a good one for the most part.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed my artwork for today. I have more to share and may get to it later or possibly tomorrow. If you would like to get your hands on any of the newest products you've seen today, please give me a shout! I'd love to show you the latest and greatest that Close To My Heart has to offer!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great weekend!

Close To My Heart Scrapbook Challenge #71~Silly Girl

Here's my layout for this past week's scrapbook challenge. Can you guess who the silly little girl is? If you guessed my newest granddaughter, Scarlet, then you are correct! She sure is a silly girl and I love her already although I still have never met her. Someday!

Anyway, I was going through some older paper packs a few days ago, looking for something different to work with for this challenge and I found this oldie but goodie...Just Chillin'. It is no longer available but I still had plenty of the papers to use so this is what I created. I still have to complete the journaling yet. Although the journaling is very important on a scrapbook page, it is always the last part I do because I really have to think about what I want to say and don't want to mess it up!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoy the layout and have a great day!

Close To My Heart Scrapbook Challenge #69~Magnifique Water Show

I am once again trying to get caught up as I was out of town for a family reunion. Here is last week's scrapbook challenge and now I can work on this week's and try to finish it before Sunday's new challenge post.

The photos in the layout were taken while in Washington, DC at the CTMH convention. I could have watched those water fountains forever. It was so cool watching them shoot up and down to the beat of the music.

Although I love the new Magnifique paper pack, which is what I used on this layout, I still think the layout is missing something and I haven't put my finger on it yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

By the way, the reunion was a great success and I am so glad I was able to attend. I had not seen many of my relatives for more than 20 years! I never realized just how many relatives I had either and they all weren't even there! We rented a pavilion at Harris Hill outside of Elmira, NY and we were overflowing. Couldn't imagine what it would have been like if every single member of the Benjamin clan was able to make it! Unreal! I totally enjoyed seeing everyone! The food was especially enjoyable, too, and what a variety of yumminess there was! I wish I could have tasted everything!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the layout. If you want to know what supplies I used, please let me know because as of right now, I am too lazy to type them for you! LOL

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a good one!

Pay No Attention to that Annoying Photobucket Square

on your screen! Reminds me of the Wizard of Oz! HaHa! I have been so busy lately that I have not had time to look for a new design for my blog. That annoying little square that you are all seeing will go away after I pick a new design so bear with me. Apparently the owner of 'the cutest blog on the block' has moved all her blog background designs off photobucket so now I have no design on MY blog. Unfortunately, I will not be able to find another design till sometime next week when I have some free time. Don't give up on me yet! I will come back with an awesome background....you'll see!

Have a good weekend!

Heart2Heart Challenges~H2H17~Colors

It is with a sad heart that I bring you this week's Heart2Heart challenge as it is my last one as a member of the first design team for this challenge blog. Bummer! : ( But no doubt the new design team will continue to inspire me as well as you with their awesome artwork. I hope to continue to contribute my creations to the blog as time allows me to do so, just not as a member of the design team. So please do check out the blog each week going forward.

Okay, so anyway, this week's challenge is a color challenge. I wasn't as intimidated with these colors as some of the past color challenges so this layout came together quite quickly. I love taking photos of my garden and cool stuff in my backyard so this layout features a photo of a butterfly that recently appeared in my garden. It didn't even flinch when I got within inches of it as it sat on my coneflowers so I was able to take lots of photos of it as you can see from an earlier post.

Now it's your turn to get out the colors of Vineyard Berry, Blush and Creme Brulee and start playing! Don't forget to send us a link to your creation so we can check it out! And while you're visiting the Heart2Heart blog, please check out the rest of the beautiful artwork created by the outgoing design team.

Supplies used are from Close To My Heart except as noted:
  • X5754~Creme Brulee cardstock
  • X5640~Blush cardstock
  • 1248~Vineyard Berry cardstock

  • D1448~Picture This stamp set (new stamp set received at Convention)

Close To My Heart~Scrapbook Challenge #68~Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Girls ALWAYS just wanna have fun, right? Who wants to HAVE to do what they're supposed to? Not me! Wouldn't it be nice to be a kid again and just be able to play every day of your life? Well, maybe not actually BE a kid again but just be able to play like one? I think that would be great!

Well, to some degree that's what I do in my Close To My Heart business---play! I get to create every day with awesome products like beautiful patterned papers, gorgeous ink colors, totally cool embellishments and really fantastic clear acrylic stamps. If I don't get to do even one small project in my scraproom every day, I have withdrawal symptoms, seriously!

If playing every day sounds good to you, contact me and we'll talk about YOUR opportunity to become a Close To My Heart consultant like myself. I would love for you to join my team--Scrampers with Heart! The price of the New Consultant kit will be going up very soon so now is the perfect time for you to jump right in! It would be great to have you join me at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA for next year's CTMH Convention!

Okay, back to our regularly scheduled program...so sorry I got off-track there for a bit. This is my layout created for the Weekly Scrapbook Challenge that I participate in. And yea, it's another layout of my cute little granddaughters. Gee, what a surprise! HaHa! Now for the details!
