My newest grandbaby on a Close To My Heart layout

Thought I'd share this layout I made of my newest grand baby. I just realized I haven't posted any photos of her or even made an announcement about her recent birth. How could I have forgotten??? Anyway, here she is! Miss Scarlet Raeyn. Isn't she a cutie? Since she doesn't live local, I will most likely have to wait several months before I can actually see her. : ( Hope you enjoy the layout!

Thanks for dropping by today! Have a good one!

Close To My Heart Silhouette Thank You Card

I made this card today and was so pleased with how it turned out that I just had to share it right away! Since I had the Silhouette paper pack out after creating the last layout for the weekly scrapbook challenge, I decided to use it for a thank you card I had to make. I am so glad I chose these papers! Look at this card! Isn't it just gorgeous? Well, that's my opinion anyway and I think mine matters most! Haha!

Once I decided I wanted to pop up the sentiment, I knew something had to go behind it so I made the tag and stamped 'thank you's' all over it. The next 2 photos show how I popped everything up.

Products used are all Close To My Heart:

  • D1412 Noted Backgrounds
  • D1361 Thank You
  • D1410 One of a Kind

Close To My Heart Scrapbook Challenge #46-Silhouette Layout

I am almost caught up with the weekly scrapbook challenge that I got behind on. Here is #46. This was created using the Open Forum design in the Imagine how-to book from Close To My Heart. I used an old favorite paper pack, Silhouette, which, by the way, is still available. It is one of the best paper packs ever sold by Close To My Heart. Well, at least in my opinion it is! The only other products used on this layout are Colonial White brads and Black ribbon. Very simple and quick without a lot of embellishments. I will add the title and photos at a later time as I'm not quite sure which ones to use yet. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for looking!

Unscripted Sketches #41

Here's the sketch for the weekly Unscripted Sketches challenges and below is what I created using this sketch. Since I am really loving the new Veranda papers from Close To My Heart, I made another card with them. And remember in my last post I mentioned the Just Blooms paper flower collection also had butterflies? Well, here is one of those butterflies! Isn't it cute? I edged it in Cocoa ink to make it pop a bit off the background. Hope you like!
Thanks for stopping by again! Have a great day and happy scrappin' to ya!

Unscripted Sketches #40

I'm a bit behind on these weekly sketch challenges as well but I'm working on getting caught up. Please bear with me! I used the new Veranda papers from Close To My Heart on this card. I really love the colors of Veranda, which includes Creme Brulee, Juniper and Cocoa. I also used one of the new paper flowers from the Just Blooms collection. It is an awesome collection and features many different styles and sizes of flowers along with little paper butterflies that are just too cute. Hope you enjoy the card and sorry it's so late!

Have a great day!

HELLO!!! CTMH Scrapbook Challenge #44

Whew! I'm finally back! And have I got some artwork to share with you! I was very creative during our 2 recent huge snowstorms and since my computer was caput (?) for over a week, I wasn't able to post anything. But, I'm back now and ready to post again. I will first start out with Scrapbook Challenge #44 then add on from there as time allows.

This layout was created using the Reflections how-to book. The left page was created with the Main Frame-Quilt Blocks design and the right page was created with the Front & Center-Photo Focus design. I used the new You Rock paper pack along with a couple older stamp sets that are still available-D1300 Circle Around and C1234 Simple Stitches and which I still use often. The featured colors in this layout are Outdoor Denim, Indian Corn Blue, Goldrush and White Daisy. I also created a card with the You Rock papers but will try to post that later or tomorrow.

Aahh! I've run out of time already! Hope you've enjoyed stopping by today. Now I must get some laundry done and prep for my scrapbook class this evening. I will try to post another creation between tasks, if possible. Have a great day!

Still waiting!

I am still waiting for my computer to be fixed! The part was ordered and should have been here yesterday but thanks to 'adverse weather conditions', it couldn't be delivered. I am so upset! Now I have to wait till Monday to receive the part if the state of PA can find the manpower to remove a huge snowdrift that is blocking my road. What's up with that? I want my mail! I want my packages delivered! Come on Penn DOT, git 'er done before I start yelling atcha'! Scary, aren't I?

Well, it looks like it'll be a few more days before I can post any photos of the snow we got or any of the cards and layouts I created while snowbound. You'll all just have to be patient just a tad bit longer. Sorry! : (

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a good one!

So Sorry and another recipe!!

I am so sorry I haven't posted lately but, alas, my poor computer is having some issues. I am in the process of trying to figure out the best route with it's repair. I wish I knew someone who was real good with computers and lived right next door to me! LOL...that would be great! If you know of anyone nearby, please let me know!

I have been creating a lot the past few days what with all the snow we were graced with over the weekend...2 feet of the fluffy stuff, not much else to do! But, I'm afraid I can't post any of the photos of my creations due to the fact that my old computer, which I have had to use the past few days, does not have the capability to accept my digital camera card. So you see my frustration?

I have taken tons of photos of the snow that I'd love to share with you along with all my layouts and cards that I've created while snowbound but, you'll just have to wait to see them. Something to look forward to!

I also made a couple loaves of the bestest bread ever while I've been stuck in the house and thought I would share the recipe with you.

English Muffin Loaves
Ingredients:
  • 2 pkg. yeast (envelopes)
  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup water
  • cornmeal
Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda.
Heat liquids until very warm (120 degrees-130 degrees).
Add to dry mixture; beat well.
Stir in rest of flour to make stiff dough.

Spoon into two 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" loaf pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from pans immediately and cool.

This is the most delicious bread! It's especially good for breakfast sandwiches! Enjoy!

Tip: Use a heavy duty mixer with a dough hook, if possible, as the dough can be quite stiff.

Have a great day!
