Pay No Attention to that Annoying Photobucket Square

on your screen! Reminds me of the Wizard of Oz! HaHa! I have been so busy lately that I have not had time to look for a new design for my blog. That annoying little square that you are all seeing will go away after I pick a new design so bear with me. Apparently the owner of 'the cutest blog on the block' has moved all her blog background designs off photobucket so now I have no design on MY blog. Unfortunately, I will not be able to find another design till sometime next week when I have some free time. Don't give up on me yet! I will come back with an awesome background....you'll see!

Have a good weekend!

Heart2Heart Challenges~H2H17~Colors

It is with a sad heart that I bring you this week's Heart2Heart challenge as it is my last one as a member of the first design team for this challenge blog. Bummer! : ( But no doubt the new design team will continue to inspire me as well as you with their awesome artwork. I hope to continue to contribute my creations to the blog as time allows me to do so, just not as a member of the design team. So please do check out the blog each week going forward.

Okay, so anyway, this week's challenge is a color challenge. I wasn't as intimidated with these colors as some of the past color challenges so this layout came together quite quickly. I love taking photos of my garden and cool stuff in my backyard so this layout features a photo of a butterfly that recently appeared in my garden. It didn't even flinch when I got within inches of it as it sat on my coneflowers so I was able to take lots of photos of it as you can see from an earlier post.

Now it's your turn to get out the colors of Vineyard Berry, Blush and Creme Brulee and start playing! Don't forget to send us a link to your creation so we can check it out! And while you're visiting the Heart2Heart blog, please check out the rest of the beautiful artwork created by the outgoing design team.

Supplies used are from Close To My Heart except as noted:
  • X5754~Creme Brulee cardstock

Close To My Heart~Scrapbook Challenge #68~Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Girls ALWAYS just wanna have fun, right? Who wants to HAVE to do what they're supposed to? Not me! Wouldn't it be nice to be a kid again and just be able to play every day of your life? Well, maybe not actually BE a kid again but just be able to play like one? I think that would be great!

Well, to some degree that's what I do in my Close To My Heart business---play! I get to create every day with awesome products like beautiful patterned papers, gorgeous ink colors, totally cool embellishments and really fantastic clear acrylic stamps. If I don't get to do even one small project in my scraproom every day, I have withdrawal symptoms, seriously!

If playing every day sounds good to you, contact me and we'll talk about YOUR opportunity to become a Close To My Heart consultant like myself. I would love for you to join my team--Scrampers with Heart! The price of the New Consultant kit will be going up very soon so now is the perfect time for you to jump right in! It would be great to have you join me at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA for next year's CTMH Convention!

Okay, back to our regularly scheduled program...so sorry I got off-track there for a bit. This is my layout created for the Weekly Scrapbook Challenge that I participate in. And yea, it's another layout of my cute little granddaughters. Gee, what a surprise! HaHa! Now for the details!

Close To My Heart~Scrapbook Challenge #66~Free as a Butterfly

I know I'm backtracking a bit here but I lost some time somewhere along the way and got behind on these weekly scrapbook challenges. I don't like the feeling of being behind so I am doing my best to get caught up. I need to go back to #65 then jump ahead again to #68 which is this week's challenge. Not sure if I'll do it but I'm sure gonna try.

Anyhoo, here's a layout I created using the Proof Preview design from the Imagine how-to design book from Close To My Heart. I absolutely LOVE how this layout turned out.

Because I had so many beautiful photos of this butterfly, I added an interactive element to the right page in order to include a couple more photos. You can see how I did that in the closeup shots.

The quote was one I found online at quotegarden.com and really thought it appropriate for this layout. Don't you agree?

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoy the layout! Happy Scrappin'!

Heart2Heart Challenges~H2H16~Recipe

Good Monday Morning! And since it's Monday, it is also time for a new Heart 2 Heart challenge. This week's challenge is to feature a recipe in your creation, whether it's a card or a layout or whatever you can come up with.

I chose to do a layout featuring a favorite zucchini recipe. My garden has produced soooo many zucchini this year that I'm up to my eyeballs in them and need to find lots of different ways to fix them. This particular recipe is one my mom always made and I have always loved it! It is so delicious!

I have posted several photos of my layout including some close-ups so you can see exactly how it all went together. I used a leftover pre-printed layout from the Splendor Level 1 paper pack by Close To My Heart and a piece of extra pattern paper as well. I used some flip flaps memory protectors to create a mini album on the layout to showcase several other photos that otherwise wouldn't have fit on the layout. I LOVE those flip flaps! I am quite pleased with the end result and had a lot of fun creating it as well as eating the zucchini cakes. Yum!

Now it's your turn to create something that features a favorite recipe of yours! Don't forget to share it with us. Go here to send us a link to your creation and while there, check out the artwork from the rest of the design team.

Speaking of design teams, if you'd like to become a member of the next design team, Mary has posted all the details for you so be sure to check that out, too. The 4 month reign of the current design team, which includes 'yours truly', is sadly : ( coming to an end so Mary is searching for another team. Good luck!!!

Supplies used are all Close To My Heart:
  • X7124A~Splendor Level 1 paper pack
  • D1364~Recipe Box stamp set
  • C1304~Sans Alphabet stamp set
  • Z1307~ Pizzazz Irresistibles
  • Z2123~Goldrush ink
  • Z2155~Topiary ink
  • Z4114~Flip Flaps Memory Protectors
  • Z1276~Colonial White Mini Medleys
  • Z1102~Cranberry Grosgrain ribbon
  • Z1229~Colonial White Softset Eyelets
  • New England Ivy Waxy Flax (retired)
  • Autumn Terracotta metal swirls (retired)
Thanks for stopping by today! Make it a good one!

Layouts created at Close To My Heart Convention 2010

Just wanted to share the Create & Take layouts we made at Convention 2010. I added some photos to both but I am still not completely done with all the journaling and such. These layouts are so cool as they have large flip flaps attached to them to expand the area for more photos.

The first and third photos show the base pages and the second and fourth photos show the base pages with the flip flaps open. You really have to see them in person to fully appreciate them. I can't wait to show you! You are going to LOVE them! Consider this a sneak peek of what's to come in the new Autumn/Winter Idea Book from Close To My Heart!

Thanks for stopping by today! Stay cool!

Convention 2010~Just One Word~AWESOME!

Here's my first layout created with photos from Close To My Heart Convention 2010 held at the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center in Washington, DC. This is also my layout created for the weekly scrapbook challenge (#67) that I have fallen behind on. So sorry! : ( I had been trying to get caught up but Convention got in my way. Oh darn! I still haven't done the journaling on the layout yet.

I was one of the lucky attendees, out of over 1300, whose name was called to win a prize! Yea! I never win anything and I was so excited to receive all the products needed to recreate the artwork featured on page 11 of the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2010 Idea Book. The papers used on this layout were part of my prize and are from the new Magnifique paper pack. I hope I'm allowed to post these. I also used a couple new stamp sets that were given out to all Convention attendees only. Wanna attend Convention next year with me so you can get lots of FREE stuff? Ask me how!

Supplies used are all Close To My Heart and I have left off the item numbers for the new products as I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post them yet:
  • 9030~Imagine~Stars Above design
  • Magnifique paper pack
  • 'Life's Framework' stamp set
  • 'Picture This' stamp set
  • D1195 The Works Alphabet stamp set
  • Two new ink colors~Pacifica & Sky

Close To My Heart Convention 2010

Wow! What an experience! I have to say that this wonderful company I am lucky to be a part of sure knows how to throw a party! It was non-stop action from start to finish and I did not want it to end! I got to meet many wonderful CTMH sisters that I interact with online on the company bulletin boards but had never met. I learned how to help my business grow plus I learned some new tips and techniques to take my creativity to a whole new level as well. So watch out!
This year's Convention was held at the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center in our nation's capital. It was like a city within a city. It was huge!!! Although I had never been to Washington, DC before, it would have been nice to do some sight-seeing but there wasn't really enough time.
The Gaylord Hotel is located on the Potomac River and that is the body of water you see behind me in the next photo. The days we were there were hazy, hot (over 100 degrees) and humid so it wasn't too hard staying inside the hotel most of the time.
Here I am at the Awards ceremony wearing a dress! Yep, I actually wore a dress for the first time in I don't know how long. And...this is the dress I found in the back of my closet that still had the tags on from probably 20 years ago! Can you believe that? It finally got some use! Now back to the back of the closet it goes!
Well, next year's Convention is going to be held in Anaheim, CA at Disneyland. I would love to be able to attend but I am going to need your help in getting there. Help my business grow this next 12 months and I'll be there! Ask me how you can help and possibly even join me in Anaheim!

Happy scrappin' and thanks for stopping by!

Heart2Heart Challenges~H2H15~Anything But a Card

Anything but a card, huh? Anything....but....a....card? Well, let me see.....I guess that means I can't create a card for this challenge? Hmmm, what should I make then? How about a picture frame...one that holds a photo of someone very special to me, whom I have never met? This little cutie is my newest granddaughter but then, you all knew that, didn't you? This is Miss Scarlet and she is just too cute! But I am getting off topic here.

This week's Heart2Heart challenge is to create ANYTHING you want as long as it is NOT a card. Got that? ANYTHING BUT A CARD! No cards allowed!!! So start creating and send us a link to your post so we can check it out. While you're there, please check out the artwork created by all the other very talented design team members, especially Tracey. She just won the album contest at the CTMH Convention in Washington, DC (yea) and we are all very happy for her. Her album is beautiful!!!

I am so very tired as I'm writing this since I did not get much sleep while in DC for Convention so I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about the supplies used for my ANYTHING BUT A CARD project. But I will tell you that I used the 'Cherry-O' paper pack , the 'You're Sweet' stamp set, some Tulip buttons, some Sweet Leaf ribbon, and some other odds and ends of supplies. If you'd like more details, just give me a shout tomorrow cuz right now I'm heading to bed to try to catch up on some lost sleep.

Good night and thanks for stopping by!
