It's Time to Get Wild with Heart 2 Heart

I decided to join in this week's Heart2Heart challenge because...well, just because! The challenge is to use an animal or bird in your artwork. Insects are also welcome! I chose to use frogs (are they insects or animals?) on my layout as I've had this stamp set for such a long time and haven't used it enough. I also have had this 5x7 photo of my oldest granddaughters since last summer but never got around to using it so it was just perfect for this challenge. Don't you just LOVE the real stitching on my layout instead of the faux stitching that I usually do? I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! Hubby oiled up my sewing machine real good for me a few days ago so I will be doing more real stitching from now on.

When you're done admiring my awesome layout, no modesty here, head on over to the Heart2Heart blog, check out what the Design Team has created and get busy on your own artwork to post.

Supplies used are all Close To My Heart:
  1. Z1375 Kraft paper (new)
  2. D1365 True Happiness stamp set
  3. C1265 Charm Lowercase Alphabet stamp set
  4. C1184 Frogs stamp set
  5. Z1339 Pear mini medleys
  6. Z280 Hemp
  7. Z2114 Cocoa ink
  8. Z2197 Pear ink
  9. Colonial White and Copper Brads

Close To My Heart Scrapbook Challenge #94~Sweetheart~Mother & Daughter Layout

I am ahead of schedule on this week's scrapbook challenge, although I am posting this with a heavy heart today. The 10 year old son of a good friend of mine passed away this morning after a very brave 3 year battle with leukemia. I am totally devastated by this news as he had recently been doing so well. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this horrible tragedy. And be sure to give your own children lots of hugs and loving cause you just never know if or when they could be taken from you. It's so not fair for a parent to lose a child.

This layout features a new paper pack called 'Sweetheart' and is a perfect choice for these two precious ladies. (I plan to give them extra hugs the next time I see them!) I had a lot of fun making this layout and hope I didn't overdo it on the embellishments. Below is a list of supplies used:
  • 9034~Magic~Performance design
  • G1017~Sweetheart Workshop Kit
  • E1019~Bohemian Alphabet
  • D1413~Cherished Flourishes
  • Z1370~Pink Buttons
  • Z2166~Tulip ink
  • Z2105~Black ink
  • Z2102~Baby Pink ink
  • Z2366~Tulip Marker
  • Black brads
Hope you enjoy the layout and thanks for stopping by today!

Close To My Heart~Scrapbook Challenge #91~Discover~Wings

My next layout for the weekly scrapbook challenge I participate in. I used one of the new Close To My Heart paper packs called 'Wings'. Let me just tell you how much I LOVE this paper pack! I really love butterflies so this paper is right up my alley! Still haven't decided on photos for the layout yet but I will find some soon, I hope and they will probably be photos of my newest granddaughter. You're not getting tired of her yet, are you? I sure hope not because there will be many more to come! She is my best scrapbooking subject at this point in time. After March 19th or thereabouts, there will be another little girlie who will adorn my scrapbook pages. Stay tuned for that news!

I hope you enjoy this latest layout created using the following supplies from CTMH:
  • G1016~Wings Workshop Kit
  • E1019~Bohemian Alphabet stamp set
  • Find Your Style-January Stamp of the Month
Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Close To My Heart~Scrapbook Challenge #89

Here's another Christmas layout made for the weekly scrapbook challenge. This was made with last year's Christmas paper pack called 'Jingle'. Photos of my granddaughter's first Christmas will adorn this layout whenever I get around to getting them printed. I also used the October 2010 Stamp of the Month 'Share the Magic' stamp set on this layout. I really love that stamp set. All the images are so cute! Hope you enjoy the layout! Now to locate layouts #90-#92 to post! Thanks for stopping by!

Close To My Heart Scrapbook Challenge #87~Mistletoe Layout

Okay, so I am waaaay behind in posting all the latest scrapbook challenges here. They've been done-just not posted. That's what happens when the holidays creep up on you and there's just too much to do.

Anyway, for the next couple days I will try to post all those layouts that I am behind on and hopefully they will inspire you to get some of your own scrapbooking done.

This one was created with the Mistletoe paper pack and I will be putting recent Christmas photos on it as soon as I can find the time to do that. Unfortunately, I don't have the list of supplies used for this layout handy so if you'd like to know, just give me a shout.

Thanks for stopping by. Catch me again tomorrow for more inspiration.

Heart2Heart Color Challenge

Wow, it has been totally way too long since I have joined in the Heart2Heart challenges! I really need to get back to them because I do miss them! The other day I found myself with nothing important or urgent to do, which is rare for me, and I went to the Heart2Heart challenge blog to see what I've been missing. There happened to be a color challenge running this week so I decided to jump in. I needed to come up with a card for one of my upcoming A(wesome)-size stamp classes anyway so why not use the colors of this challenge and kill two birds with one stone, I asked myself. Well, why not indeed! So here is is!

As you can see the colors for this challenge are Pear, Sky and Colonial White but you are also allowed to throw a bit of Sorbet in as well. So I did! I made one of the flowers with Sorbet ink and the ribbon is also Sorbet. I'm sorry you can't see the card real well in the photo. I didn't realize it was that light until I posted it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!
