A Matchbook Album

I have been perusing YouTube a lot lately and found a tutorial for this sweet matchbook album. Can you believe it is made with paper lunch bags? Amazing! And the lady who created this - Kathy Orta - is amazing! I didn't use the same type of paper bags that she used but the ones I used worked fine with a little adjustment. If you enjoy creating this type of project, you must check out her YouTube channel.

The papers I used were very old ones (My Mind's Eye Bohemian Christmas) that I discovered in my stash a few days ago and decided this was the perfect project to use them on.

The first photo shows the front cover with the belly band in place. The band slides off nicely so you can open the album. The snowflakes were created with the new 'Artiste' Cricut cartridge from Close To My Heart. Love them!

I must ask you not to look too closely at the details on this album as I did make a few minor mistakes. Ha ha! I know, it's a handmade item and will not be perfect but it still bothers me when I make silly little mistakes that I will NOT make again on the next one!

Here is the inside with the front cover flap flipped open. I made my album with 6 lunch bags and there are openings at the top where I inserted a tag in each one. The tags can hold a photo on each side which greatly adds more space to store your memories.

I haven't completed the decorating of this album yet so will probably add some words on the tabs at the top of the tags plus some flat embellishments on the pages so as not to make it too bulky. But it is too plain for my taste so I will definitely be adding more to it!

I still need to put a title on the front but not sure yet what it will be - maybe Winter Memories? What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed looking at my newest album creation. Check out the tutorial on this album and if you make one, please share it. Have a great day and happy scrampin'!
