Online Close to my Heart Home Gathering

Hi Everyone!
I have decided to try something totally different than I've ever done before - an online home gathering where YOU can be the hostess without having to clean your house or provide snacks! Do I have your attention?

All you have to do is invite all your family and friends by email or through Facebook to go to my website at - where I have set up an EZ Invite online gathering for YOU - and place an order. It's as easy as that!

Depending on the amount of sales (beginning at $150), YOU can earn a minimum of $25 in Hostess Rewards to use towards FREE select scrapbooking and cardmaking products. Sound like something you might like? Who doesn't like FREE, right?
As an extra incentive to get you to take advantage of this really easy way to get FREE stuff, if you hold one of these online gatherings and close it out by October 30th, I will throw in one B-size stamp set of your choice for FREE! That's a retail value of $9.95 PLUS you would be receiving your Hostess Rewards which can be anywhere from $25 on up depending on the amount of sales!

So think about it very quickly, make a list of family and friends to invite then give me a shout! I would LOVE to help you build up your stash of paper-crafting supplies and this is one of the easiest ways to do it! Feel free to browse the idea book on my website as well as right here on my blog for tons of inspiration!

If this new online gathering format is successful, I would love to hold one for any one of you needing a new fundraising idea for your favorite charitable foundation. Contact me to discuss this option.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Fall Candle

I've had this glass jar for quite some time now and finally decided to do something with it. I cut a strip of patterned paper from the Close to my Heart Florentine paper pack 12" x 2 1/2" long then had to cut a smaller piece 1" x 2 1/2" to connect to it in order for it to go all around the inside of the jar.

I randomly stamped the words - "Fabulous Fall" and "Autumn is nature at it's best", from the C1504 Fall Harvest stamp set, in Cocoa pigment ink on the long strip of paper and inked the edges of the paper. Then I stamped three leaves and an acorn with the Cocoa pigment ink and colored them in with Autumn Terracotta and Desert Sand inks. I cut them out, adhered them to the strip of paper and added a small Z280 Hemp bow.
Next I adhered a folded-over strip of Z1760 Burlap Ribbon around the top of the jar by using a couple strips of double-sided sticky tape. I added a double hemp bow around it, put a battery-operated candle inside and called it done!

Actually as I sit here looking at the candle while writing this post, I made the bow on the leaves just a tad bit smaller and may end up just replacing it with a knot instead. I think it conflicts too much with the larger bow on the outside.

I am wondering how bright the candle will look at night. It's a small one and probably won't be very effective so I may have to change it out for a larger one. Anyone out there know if they make larger ones and where they can be purchased?

The best part about this quick & easy project? The paper inside can be changed out depending on the season or holiday because it is not adhered to the glass. Isn't that clever? I'm already thinking ahead to Christmas - not only for changing the paper out but for giving as gifts!

CTMH Clementine Mini Album

During my recent busy-ness, I also created this cute little mini album with the new Clementine paper pack from Close To My Heart. I was so happy to also be using up some older supplies that I seemed to have like forever - those clear acrylic shapes that were a hostess gift quite awhile back. Some of you may remember them! You will notice them in the last 2 closeup frames of the slideshow.

Each page of the album was made from a 9 1/2" x 10" sheet of double-sided paper and was very quick & easy to put together. I used the Art Philosophy & Artiste Cricut cartridges to create all the tags for the inside pockets. The tabs on the tags that stick out on the top were also created with those cartridges. I must say, those 2 cartridges are THE ABSOLUTE BEST! Don't know how I ever lived without them! If you'd like to check them out, you can see them here and here. You may also place an order here if you wish.

I hope you enjoy the slideshow! Happy scrampin'!

Lovely Close To My Heart Frame

It's been awhile since I've posted here and I must apologize for that. I have been busy with other things and just couldn't seem to find the time to post anything. During that busy-ness, I have created some new artwork to share so I haven't been wasting my time.

This lovely frame is the new Z1797 My Creations Bracket Frame from Close To My Heart. It is made of heavy chipboard and is quite sturdy. I used the X7155B Avonlea paper pack on the frame and the insert. The new Z1760 Burlap Ribbon, which I absolutely LOVE, was perfect for creating the three very simple flowers. The Z1463 Butterflies were sponged with Z2118 Desert Sand ink - I also inked all edges of the frame with Desert Sand ink - then I added a couple Z1336 Opaque Pearls on the butterflies - as well as larger ones around the burlap flowers. The letters and the bracket shape for the frame were cut with the Z1686 Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

There are several embellishments attached to the frame that are NOT from Close To My Heart. I am happy though that I got to use up some of my stash of older supplies instead of hoarding them! Ha ha! I was awaiting the arrival of my CTMH order but it didn't get here before I got the urge to start playing with the frame and wouldn't you know, it arrived the very next day! Oh well, I can use those embellishments on another frame, right?

I hope you have enjoyed my newest piece of artwork. You can go here to order your own Z1797 Bracket Frame (or any of the other fantastic products from CTMH) and start creating one to adorn your own wall. They also make great gifts! Christmas is coming..........I know, shush, right?

A Fall CTMH Card

I just love the burlap ribbon and the phrase on this card and the leaves and the buttons - oh heck - I just love the whole card! It was a very quick and easy card to put together and in my opinion, those kinds of cards are the BEST!

The stamp set I used is the one that comes in the G1050 Flirty Workshop on the Go Kit from Close To My Heart. I dug deep in my embellishment stash to find 2 buttons that worked perfectly for this card. Hemp is always a wonderful addition to a Fall card so I weaved it through the burlap ribbon and the buttons and love how it looks! I stamped the leaves on 1 inch squares of Colonial White cardstock, ink distressed the edges with Desert Sand ink then adhered them to the 1 1/4 inch squares of Cocoa cardstock that I sanded with a sanding block. Ink colors used for the leaves are Goldrush & Autumn Terracotta. Love those colors for Fall!

Perhaps I should do a card workshop soon so you all can come make one for yourself! Good idea! Off to the craft room to see what else I can create!
