CTMH Huntington Layout

I have been wanting to join in the challenges posted by my friend Cheryl Even over at evenmorescrapping.blogspot.com for quite some time now and finally decided to just do it already!

Here is the sketch......

......and here is my layout.

I don't have any photos on it yet because it will hold Thanksgiving photos from this year. Trying to get a jumpstart on my holiday layouts before I get too busy with holiday-related activities.

I used the new X7174B Huntington papers from Close To My Heart along with the Z1881 Huntington Assortment that coordinates with the paper pack. I also threw in a couple metal badge buttons from the Z1879 ProPlayer Assortment and some sparkles and little wooden trinkets. The alphabet is the Z1777 Color-Ready Canvas Alphabet which I hope never retires. I love those letters!

I hope you have enjoyed my layout today! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Make a Scene

This week's challenge at the Heart2Heart blog is to 'make a scene'. Before I decided on my project here, I had so many ideas floating around in my head about 'making a scene' but nothing seemed to work for me. At one time during the creative process of this challenge I had 3 different projects going at the same time but still nothing that really grabbed me. So finally I just chose one of the projects and finished it off to make it work. I hope you like it!

I happen to be quite tired as I'm writing this post so I won't take the time to share all the supplies used to create it. But I will tell you this, I used the new Artbooking Cricut cartridge for several cuts on this single page layout and love how they all look! Artbooking is totally awesome, I must say!

The 'scene' I made here was created with a 'window' cut with the cartridge out of Kraft cardstock. I stamped a tree on a square of Colonial White cardstock and put it behind the window for the 'scene'. I mounted it to a decorated 6" x 6" Kraft Die Cut card that opens at the top and which will drop down to expose a couple photos that will be tucked inside. I also created a tag to tuck down behind the card to simulate a chimney. Did you see that before I mentioned it? I didn't set out to purposely make a chimney - it just happened and I love how it looks!

Okay, now it's your turn to 'make a scene' and share it with us over at the Heart2Heart blog. Be sure to use mainly Close To My Heart products in your creation or your link will be removed. Sorry, them's the rules! ;-)

Happy scrampin'! Have a great day!

The upcoming September stamp of the month set from Close To My Heart - called Poster Tidings was just perfect for focusing on. Don't you agree? Just look at the sentiment on this card! Don't you just love it?

Close To My Heart Huntington Spin Card

So I wasn't too sure about these new spin cards from Close To My Heart so I decided I had to try one for myself. Well, let me tell you...these are pretty cool cards! I have only created one so far but I am in love with these cards. Take a peek at this one that we will be creating in my upcoming card class. Don't ya just love it?

I'm not sure if you can tell by the photo or not but there is a square cutout on the front of the card with a cardstock circle hanging by a string right in the center of the square so it spins when you open the card. Hence the name - spin card! Underneath that circle, on the inside of the card is another square which happens to be orange-ish in color and holds another scalloped circle in the center that says Happy Birthday. It's such a cool card!

Wanna make one? It's not too late to attend my card class on the 15th, 16th or 19th but you must let me know ASAP. I have room for 2 more so don't delay if you'd like to attend! Cost is only $10 for 3 spin cards and a cute little stamp set to keep!

Oh and by the way, I used a new stamp set called Happy Autumn as well as the new Huntington paper pack on this card. I can see myself using that paper quite a bit! I love it!

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy scrampin'!
