I just realized I never even posted any of this month's lists for this challenge. I have so many projects that I'm trying to keep up with and getting far behind on just about everything so this took a back seat to everything else that I was involved in. Yikes! But it is DONE and just in time so I am sharing them all with you now. So grab a favorite beverage, kick back and enjoy! ;) I think you should be able to read them all without me typing each one out but if for some reason you can't, give me a shout and I'd be happy to help you out.

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy listing and happy scrampin'!
Hello, it's me! I've thought about us for a long, long time...or something like that. Ha, started off with 'Hello it's me' and went right into that song some of you may remember. But that's not the reason I'm here today so here goes.....
I received some beautiful new papers from Close to my Heart a few days ago and have been playing with them ever since. I love the name - Blossom - as soon the blossoms will be popping out around here, at least I hope so if winter ever loses it's grip on us. I have so many ideas in my head for this paper pack but here's what I came up with to start.
This first layout is actually a design from the wonderfully talented art department at Close to my Heart. I love it but don't have the stamp set they used so I improvised and used one that I just bought - D1647 Documenting Moments - which will be available to purchase beginning April 1 from the Seasonal Expressions 2 mini catalog. Check back then on my website to order yours or other awesome new products. I also used the M1051 Wish stamp set way up in the very left-hand corner.
This second layout was based on a sketch I found over at PageMaps. I used several stamp sets here - new & old including the one I used in the first layout - D1647 Documenting Moments. Also used D1607 Bodacious Banners, D1574 Take Note from the Z1906 Artbooking Cricut Collection, A1160 This is Good, which was a set available as a hostess reward a while back and S1411 It's the Little Things, which was a stamp of the month set from last November. Embellishments used are Z3039 Glacier Twine & Z3042 Coral Reef Sequins which will both be available beginning April 1st as well.
JUST A REMINDER --- only 5 more days to sign up to become a member of my 'Scrampers with Heart' team before the awesome deal goes away. Check out my original post explaining all the exciting details when you sign up this month!
Thanks for stopping by today! Make it a scrampin' happy day!
For the past 3 weeks I have been taking a class over at Studio Calico called Color Theory. It has met all my expectations and then some! I have learned so many new techniques for using paints in my scrapbooking and I never knew it could be so much fun!!! Wow! Makes me feel like a kid again playing with paints and watercolors and such! Oh what fun I'm having!
Primary Colors & Impasto Paint Techniques
Complementary Colors & Stamping
Warm Colors & Brushstrokes
Cool Colors & Text Techniques
Achromatic Colors & Stencils
I threw in some yellow just because I wanted to. I know it's not an achromatic color but it's my favorite and I love to use it in my scrapbooking a lot.
Although I didn't follow all the teacher samples exactly, I tried my best with the supplies I had to work with and am fairly pleased with how just about every layout came out. The 'Snow Much Fun' doggie layout is not my favorite - and not because I don't like doggies 'cause I sure do and especially this one - but it's okay and will stay for now.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my painting abilities today. If you'd like to try some of these fun techniques yourself and give your scrapbooking a creative boost, head on over to Studio Calico to sign up for this class. You'll be glad you did!
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a scrampin' happy day!
There's seriously nothing special with my pages for this week's Get Messy art journal challenge. I was drawing a blank and struggling to come up with something awesome using just pink or red but alas, I failed! But I am going to share it with you anyway - just be nice, please! I don't take criticism well. Ha ha! Actually I think I'm harder on myself than others are but I guess that's okay in a way because it makes me try even harder to do better. So my next art journal page should be awesome, right?? Stay tuned!
I used a bunch of different stamp sets on these pages - from Technique Tuesday and Close to my Heart - along with various shades of pink in paints, inks & colored pencils on top of gesso. The focal set of words on the left side is 'Love U Lots' and the right side is 'love you more'. I thought that was kind of clever!
Hey, if you're enjoying the pages that I've been sharing these past few weeks and would love to give this fun art form a try, just head on over to 'getmessyartjournal' to join us. You'll be happy you did!
Whoa! I am really late this time! I need to stop beginning so many new projects at the same time so I can focus on & complete each one in a timely manner. But it's so much fun learning new techniques and art forms that I'm afraid if I don't at least start something while the thought is fresh in my mind that I may never try it and will totally miss out on the excitement of learning something that just may be a perfect fit for me. Did that make sense? Well, anyway, let's move on to my latest 'Get Messy' art journal page.
The love prompt I used is challenge #2 which was to take a 'selfie' against a plain background then write affirmations around your figure. Well, I didn't quite follow the prompt exactly but it works for me! Hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a scrampin' messy day!
I know, I'm late again, aren't I? I just can't seem to get it together lately. I have so many different projects going on that I'm getting confused. Agh! Anyway, here's what I created for week 4 of the get messy art journal challenge.
Okay so this turned out a bit darker than I'd hoped but I really do like it. The words were free cut files through the Color Theory class I am taking over at Studio Calico. I cut them out with my Cricut Explore which is one awesome machine, I'm sure, once I get the hang of it. It has a huge learning curve as it's quite different from a Cricut Expression machine and I just haven't taken the time to learn much about it yet but eventually......
I wanted to use a couple small photos (these weren't my first choice) of 2 of my granddaughters being crafty - I love that they are creative like their grandma - and since the gel medium ruined the first 2 photos I wanted to use (lesson learned-do not swipe gel medium over top of photos), I went with these 2 which worked out just fine anyway. I attached the photos with staples since the gel medium ruined the first photos and I really didn't want to take a chance on ruining these as well.
I'm not 100% jump up & down happy with this project but it'll do. I followed the Love Prompts Set 4 Challenge #4 which says to use cut up strips of magazines, photos or papers, etc to create a shape or background. I used cut up pieces of paper, glued them down then painted and stenciled over top of them for my background. Kind of dark but not too bad. I'm still learning this art journaling stuff so bear with me.
A little late posting this but here's my latest art journal creation for last week's Get Messy Art Journal challenge. I'm not so sure I followed the prompts very well but I had fun working on it. I may still add some small embellishment or something as it looks a bit too empty to me. I'm open for suggestions!
Papers and stamp sets used are from Close to my Heart. I used watercolor crayons from Stampin' Up (that I've had for ages) on the background as well as yellow acrylic paint, gesso and stencils.
Hope you enjoy my artwork and thanks for stopping by!
