Some Recent Artwork to Share

HELLO!!! Have you missed me? I've been MIA again for a while, haven't I? I am getting worse instead of better about posting here. I think about it every few days but just never get to it. Don't know why but maybe it's because I spend so much time playing and creating in my craft room, which really is what I'd rather be doing, that I run out of time & energy to post any of that artwork I create. Well, I am taking some time right now to share some recent artwork so grab a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage, sit back and enjoy some awesomeness - in my opinion anyway! ;)

an art journal page created in an old dictionary
a Fall art journal page created for a challenge
an art journal page created with spray inks and stencils
an art journal page with distress inks on the background.
another art journal page created in that same old dictionary
an art journal page for a challenge
another art journal page for a challenge
just playing around with a new stencil and an Elegant Writer pen

not sure what to do with this one yet. is it an art journal page or is it perfect for cutting up to make into cards or ATC's or even framed just the way it is! well, not just the way it is because I did end up adding some silver Inka Gold paint on it as you can see in the photo below. now tell me, which one do you like the best - with the silver paint or without?

moving right along to some Gelli printing fun now.....
prints made with real leaves
lots of stencil fun here!
real leaves used again on these prints and love how they turned out!
some clean up papers as well as other prints. Gelli printing is so much fun! if you haven't tried it yet, you really should! do a search on YouTube and all kinds of tutorials come up!

Okay, I think I've probably overwhelmed you enough for one day so I'll close for now but stay tuned for more artwork coming your way soon. I hope to share some handmade cards and scrapbook layouts soon. If you have any questions about any products I used here, don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks for stopping by! Have an artsy day!

More Art Journaling Fun

Let me first say that I am no expert at the art form of art journaling but I am having tons of fun playing and learning as I go. Playing with inks and paints and watercolors and stamps and everything messy takes me back to my childhood.

I remember those days when I looked forward to art class although at that time I never thought I was any good at this artsy stuff. I just knew it was lots of fun! And maybe I'm still not any good but I'm sure having fun and that's what it's all about! So without further ado, here's my next 2 art journal pages for the Fall in Love with Art Journaling Art Challenge.

 Prompt #2 | Flattering Fabric.

I am very happy with how this turned out. The whole page feels like fabric and it's so cool! I keep picking it up and feeling it - it's just so cool! I covered the page with strips of muslin then glued more smaller strips crosswise here & there. I gessoed over top then just started stenciling with various paints and inks. I used Ferro gold and modeling paste through some of the stencils for a different effect.

I freehand cut 3 hearts out of the muslin fabric, painted them with a small amount of pink paint then tried to emboss them with gold embossing powder which didn't work so I brushed as much of it off as I could and let it go. I'm happy with the overall result.

Prompt #3 | Irresistible

I started out using gel medium through several Stencil Girl stencils to get the designs around the edges of my page then added the flowers with a Joggles stencil in the same manner. I then painted the page yellow, added a bit of Dylusions Postbox Red spray on the left side and didn't like it so I covered it with some Dylusions Turquoise spray with a baby wipe and love the effect!

Now what to do next? I'm not sure so it's going to sit while I ponder that thought. I'm open for suggestions! After all, I'm surely no expert at art journaling and welcome any & all suggestions. Be nice though! ;)

Hope you've enjoyed my pages! If you'd like to join in this fun challenge, click here to read all the details or to sign up. It's not too late!

Have an artsy day!

Some art journaling fun!

It's time once again to have some art journaling fun with Susan over at Irreversibly Moi. I participated in my first challenge a couple months ago and had so much fun that when I heard there was going to be a second one, I got very excited.

If you're interested in joining in, here's the details in a nutshell: every Monday & Thursday for 10 weeks, there's a new prompt as a jumping off point for creating an art journal page and you just start creating! That's all there is to it! Susan shares links to websites, blogs and videos to give you ideas and get you inspired to create something all your own. And the best part??? It's FREE!

It's a whole lotta fun and I think you'll like it whether you're new to art journaling or have been doing it for a while. Here's my page for today's prompt - Initial Here. It was so much fun to do!

I started with a clean off page that happened to have some Fall colors on it and built it from there with a napkin that had leaves on it and a couple pieces of deli paper - both of which were perfect for my page.

I stamped my initials in several different fonts in archival ink, added some white circles, some stamped hearts, a few white splashes and a bit of tracing around some of the leaves and along the edges then called it done.

Be sure to click on the link above to join in on the fun! Thanks for stopping by today and happy art journaling!
