Been Making Some Cards

Thought I'd share a few cards I made the past couple days. I seem to be in a slump as far as my scrapbooking these days, maybe because I just don't have many new photos to work with, so figured why not work on some cards instead. I took advantage of some recent free images from Cricut through Design Space and really went to town. Here's what I created.
For my first card, I used a circle die to cut a hole in the card base then used another circle die to cut the blue glitter paper for a border around the opening. The sentiment is one from Close To My Heart as well as the strip of black zig zag paper and the dotted vellum that the sentiment is stamped onto. The blue vellum which I attached to the inside of the card is a piece I've had forever so I was happy to use something from my stash. The dragonfly on the front was cut with my Cricut Maker out of foil acetate and added a nice little touch to the empty space on the top of the card. I stamped a butterfly image, also from Close To My Heart, on the inside so that it lined up with the opening. Added some gems and called it done!
My second card was actually quite quick to make and I love it! The flowers frame as well as the 'hello' and butterfly were all cut with my Cricut. They were offered as free cuts this week so I took advantage and cut a whole bunch of them out along with several other designs and phrases. They make such nice cards without too much thought going into the process. I used a sheet of Close To My Heart pattern paper behind the frame and love how it turned out! All cardstock used is also from Close To My Heart. They have the best!
Another free Cricut image this week was this Happy Birthday sentiment. Again all cardstock used is Close To My Heart. I embossed the white background piece with the stitched circles thin cuts dies from Close To My Heart. They make a pretty cool background, in my opinion. I know you may not be able to see them real well but if you click on the photo to make it bigger, you should be able to see them better. I added a small blue sparkle as the 'i' in birthday and called it done.
Last card is one I plan to give to my hubby for our 42nd anniversary coming up next week. Again, the heart frame and sentiment were free images from Cricut this week. The striped background paper is from Close To My Heart. I cut the leaf sprig out of a piece of red glitter paper then added a small red heart for the 'i' in anniversary. I still have to decorate and add verses to the insides of all these cards yet but I'm happy with how the fronts all turned out.
If you're a cardmaker, I hope I inspired you to make some of your own. Remember, if you have an account with Cricut Design Space, these Cricut images I used are free for your use too. To purchase  any of the Close To My Heart products, click here.

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your day!

Happy scrampin'!
